Enrolment and Eligibility?

• Participants must be at least 18 years old or have a parent/guardian’s written consent.

• By enrolling, you confirm the information provided is accurate and you agree to these Terms.

Course Format and Requirements?

• The course involves hands‑on activities that may include tools, equipment, and materials.

• You agree to follow all instructions from instructors and staff at all times.

• Our methods and practices are purely our own and may differ from other opinions.

• This course is purely for educational purposes only.

• It is your responsibility to assess whether this advice is pertinent to the work and act on this advice bearing in mind the nature and particular circumstance of each individual job

Dress Code and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)?

• Dress code is mandatory for safety:

• No baggy or loose‑fitting clothing.

• No open‑toed slippery shoes (closed‑toe, sturdy footwear required).

• Long hair must be tied back; remove dangling jewellery or accessories.

• PPE (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, ear protection) will be provided when required and must be worn as directed.

• Failure to comply may result in removal from the session without refund

Safety and Conduct

• You agree to use all tools and equipment only as instructed and to report any hazards or injuries immediately.

• Alcohol, illegal substances and being under the influence are strictly prohibited.

• The instructor may remove any participant for unsafe or disruptive behaviour

Health Acknowledgment

• You confirm you are physically able to participate and will inform the instructor of any medical conditions, allergies, or limitations that may affect participation.

• If you feel unwell or unsafe at any time, you’ll stop and alert the instructor.

• You may be required to stand or kneel for extended periods of time. Please let us know if this is a problem and we will try to accommodate the situation.

Assumption of Risk and Release

• You acknowledge that hands‑on DIY activities carry inherent risks, including minor cuts, abrasions, burns, strains, or more serious injuries.

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume these risks and release, indemnify, and hold harmless Empower Yourself DIY , its owners, employees, and contractors from claims arising out of participation, except to the extent caused by Empower Yourself DIY ’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct

Booking, Cancellations, and Refunds

Your spot is confirmed upon payment of deposit (or as specified at checkout).

A minimum deposit of £60 must be paid to secure your place .

You can pay the entire amount when booking or the balance remainder on the day.

Participant cancellations:

• [100% refund] if cancelled over 14 days before the course date.
• [50% deposit loss] if cancelled between 8 and 14 days before the course date.
• [Loss of deposit] if cancelled within 7 days of the course date or for no shows.

Rescheduling Policy:
If you are unable to attend your booked course, you may reschedule your place once, provided you give at least 8 days’ notice before the course date.
Requests to reschedule made less than 8 days before the course date will result in the loss of your deposit.

Only one reschedule is permitted per booking. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled course, your deposit will be forfeited and a new booking will be required.

Payment and Fees

• All payments are required before the course starts. Access will be refused without payment.
• We currently take BACs and Cash. More options will be given in time but it takes time to set up.
• You authorize us to charge your selected payment method for course fees and any agreed add‑ons

Our property

Under no circumstances do we allow any of our tools, materials, fixtures or fittings to be taken out of our property. By doing so, we may automatically charge you for the original value of the item and/or report any incident to the police. Images may also be posted to social media until returned.

Late Arrivals Sessions start promptly

Late arrivals may miss essential safety briefings and can be denied entry without refund.

Materials, Projects, and Results

We aim for each participant to complete a project; however, outcomes may vary based on skill and time.

• Participants are encouraged to practice on scrap material before working on any project

• Further knowledge from external sources may be required.

• A professional may still be required.

• Designs, course materials, and instructional content remain the intellectual property of Empower Yourself DIY and may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.

Photography and Media

We may take photos or short videos for promotional purposes and have CCTV running constantly for security and training purposes.

By attending, you grant Empower Yourself DIY the right to use your image and likeness without compensation, unless you opt out in writing before the session.

Personal Property and car parking

•Please bring only necessary personal items.

•Parking is provided at your own risk.

• Empower Yourself DIY is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings/vehicles

Code of Respect

We maintain a respectful, inclusive environment. Harassment or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated.

Privacy

We collect and use your personal information solely to administer the course, process payments, and communicate with you, in accordance with our Privacy Policy at empowerdiy.co.uk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Empower Yourself DIY’s total liability for any claim related to the course will not exceed the amount you paid for your booking.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your course date applies.
